Dial Up Internet Access - Links
Dialup internet is a technology that allows one to connect to the Internet using a traditional phone line and a computer modem. These connections are cheaper, but are relatively slow and offer up to 56Kbs speed.
Broadband is a newer technology that allows high speed internet connections from rates of 256KBs to 1.5 MBs and even higher. These connections typically are based on DSL (a technology that uses traditional phone lines) or cable modems (based on the same wires that cable providers use to transmit television signals). More recently, broadband internet access via satellite has become available, allowing one to combine satellite television and internet services.
