Telemarketing.   Because of the popularity of the US Do-Not-Call list, a targeted telephone lead is more valuable than ever. No longer inundated with solicitations, a customer is many times more likely to listen to today's marketing phone call than to a phone call made five years ago. There are a number of services that maintain targeted large business and consumer lead lists for use in telemarketing campaigns.

Business lists can be targeted by sorting the leads based on industry, geographic location, business size, likelihood to purchase, and credit history. Consumer lists are sorted based on age, income, credit history, likelihood to purchase, Do-Not-Call compliance and a variety of other factors. In some cases these companies offer telemarketing lists on a pay per use basis, and in other cases they offer unlimited list downloads for a monthly subscription fee.
